The Egerton Ryerson Bell Award
In 1995 our publicity chairperson, Larry Dickey, and one of his committee members, Fred Kent, worked diligently to establish a new award for RTO/ERO District 12 Norfolk. After our 25th annivarsary celebration in 1994, the executive approved the recognition of this award to honour our anniversary and those loyal members who have supported us for 25 years or more. A suitable replica of a school bell was selected and a title inscribed, "Egerton Ryerson Award" to commemmorate the founder of our present day Ontario education system, who was born here in Norfolk County.
